New York

We drove straight from Boston to New York to Yankee Stadium on Thursday AM. It wasn't as bad as I thought driving in New York City, but still busy. The game was not even close and we ended up leaving early, but had WONDERFUL seats and in the shade which was the most important.

We sat next to some very nice Canadians who were there visiting from Toronto and there to cheer on their Blue Jays who were getting a beating in the heat.

On Friday, we saw Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty as well as walked around a little bit in New York including Ground Zero. It was very hot but more humid than hot. Our hotel there was near Broadway and Times Sqaure and always lots of people. New York is a nice place to visit but I can't say I would want to live there.

That night we had tickets for the Mets. It is a really nice stadium with very good fans. It was a nice game although the way the seats are arranged there our seats #3 and #4 were actually behind each other. It was a night game and the fans were very fun to sit amongst and visit with.

On Saturday we walked around Central Square and then to the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art). We saw Beauty and the Beast that night on Broadway which was right next to our hotel and sat in the 5th row. It was awesome and all of the actors were very good! I even joined the masses of young ladies at the side door to get an autograph from one of the actors who is also on All My Children. He was very dashing and probably way too young, but it was fun! Later that night we went to Rockefeller Center and sat in the bar because there was no iceskating at that time of year. Overall a very nice break and good baseball city and the driving was nothing after driving in England!

We moved on from New York to Baltimore. Pictures from there to come shortly. We stayed with my friend from college, Alexia and her husband ROn and their little one Gavin.

After all of this travelling, we will definitely be happy to be back in Oregon!
