Boston

Boston on Wednesday AM was so HOT. With a heat index over 100 degrees, we decided it would be torture to do the normal walking tours of Boston that we had planned to do. We therefore decided to do the Old Town Trolley Route. We even did a little side trip to Cambridge and Harvard to see what it might have been like to go to school there.

I decided a little too stuffy for my tastes. We had lunch and I could envision Good Will Hunting being filmed in the courtyard around us as I munched on food at Au Bon Pain.

There were kids playing in a fountain to keep cool in the heat outside of the Christian Science Church which was founded in Boston.

Off to the Prudential building where air-conditioned audio guides showed us the skyline and aerial view of Boston.

When we boarded our trolley again it was almost unbearable despite being almost 5 PM. A little more of Boston scenery and then off to the baseball game.

We rushed over to Fenway where we enjoyed an AWESOME game. It was the bottom of the 9th, 2 out and bases loaded. Then a walk off double to end the game and Red Sox win! The fans went crazy and it was as if they had just won the pennant! What a great place to watch a baseball game. The seats are very close the field. The fans are wicked devoted to the team. There was running and whooping and hollering and screaming that sounded like little girls all coming from a rather drunk man just down the way from us.

What a fun experience. Tom even touched the big green monster! That is the nickname for the wall in left field. It is pretty impressive.

The $4.50 hotdog was very good and I ranked it very high. Lots of good singing and entertainment at this park! The "old time" baseball park.

We have committed to going back to Boston in the fall and seeing more of the city and the sites!!!
